Provide support to all members
CUMW organises and runs training workshops, dealing with many subjects such as sexual harassment in the workplace, human rights, social protection and gender-based violence, in collaboration with international donors and brand sponsors. The training workshops are designed to help the workers understand their rights, how to protect themselves from violence and abuse, what their responsibilities are as employees and how they can get help if they need it.
During the Covid-19 crisis, local union representatives were provided with training workshops to learn how to use video conferencing tools to maintain safe communications during periods of isolation in the country.
The training workshops also aim to strengthen the economic resilience among female workers and their families through financial management skills. It also aims to increase their awareness of their rights as women in the workplace by empowering them with knowledge on human rights issues including gender-base violence and sexual harassment in the world of work.
The training workshops have been conducted in more than 8 provinces through out Cambodia since 2010.
Dispute Resolution and Consultation
CUMW has been established to help and protect the legitimate rights and benefits of workers and also provide the legal consultations to all types of workers.
We are a collective union representing workers who are often vulnerable and exploited. We have been actively working to overcome these injustices and improve the working conditions of our members, with a view to achieve the Decent work for all workers in the labor sector.
We help with strategies to improve the communication between employers and employees, assist and deal with the labor disputes between trade unions and management, and work towards solving problems before they escalate to other stakeholders.
CUMW was established as a free service to union members and trade unions to assist them with employment legal matters, including negotiation strategy, organising strategy, collective bargaining, disciplinary and grievance procedures, legal consultations, disputes and unfair dismissal claims.
