Promoting Social Dialogue and Labor Rights Are Important Elements in Attracting Investment: Pav Sina

Phnom Penh: Cambodia is a country with high potential to attract international investors, and what is special is that Cambodia has a more convenient transportation system combined with the attention of the government, as well as sufficient labor and clear skills in serve the company's production line.

Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, Heng Sour in a workshop on promoting the replacement of workers' transportation vehicles in accordance with technical and comfort standards, called on all stakeholders to work together to promote cambodia's potential and prominence to the world to contribute to attracting more investors to Cambodia.

He said, "Employers, workers, car service providers, the capital, provinces and the government have an obligation to work together to make the investment climate, industrial relations and make Cambodia an attractive country for investment."

He said that the more investors come to Cambodia, the greater the demand for labor, and that cambodia can ask for a better wage increase, but without new investment capital, labor demand and wage negotiations will not improve as well.

While Cambodia has enough potential to attract investors, it is observed that the promotion of social dialogue and labor rights is an important element in attracting more investment to Cambodia.

In this regard, the President of the Collective Union of Movement of Workers, Pav Sina, said, "It is clear that in order to raise the profile of Cambodia to the world, all stakeholders must participate, especially the promotion of social dialogue and labor rights in accordance with the decent work program In Cambodia, Cambodia is getting more and more international support, especially buyers."
