Phnom Penh: Industry Secretary-General Atle Høie says the Shun Xin Luggage factory is participating in anti-union discrimination and violating Cambodia's trade union law after firing nine union leaders.

The IndustriALL Global Union is calling on Shun Xin Luggage in Cambodia to reinstate nine union leaders with fixed-term contracts (FDCs) who were fired after forming a union in the factory.

"Shun Xin Luggage is involved in anti-union discrimination and violations of Cambodian trade law," he said. Shun Xin should continue to negotiate with the Collective Union of Movement of Workers (CUMW) and act in full compliance with national and international labor standards. We call on Shun Xin to immediately reinstate members to their original roles. "
