Phnom Penh: Pav Sina, President of the Collective Union of Movement of Workers (CUMW) in the Annual General Meeting to review the work results of 2023 and the Action Plan for 2024, expressed his pleasure that the partner institutions were present to participate, cooperate and support CUMW.
Pav Sina said that CUMW has been working hard since 2010, when it was over 10 years old. He said that the most memorable thing is Solidarity Center, which has been actively supporting from the very beginning.
He added that in addition to Solidarity Center, there are also other partner organizations that have always come to the rescue by resolving various complaints, both local and foreign.
He said that in addition to resolving joint labor disputes, we have also resolved many individual disputes, whether the worker is a member or not.
He said "We need to be an active union, not just make a name for ourselves and the problems or concerns of the workers are not hidden, they are always presented to the national and international media to find a solution," he added. "The more images, the more we can expand, and the more powerful the union will be."
He stressed that without the support of partner organizations as well as overseas brand owners, the CUMW would have a hard time working to solve the problems of the workers.
Local union leaders, activists, members of CUMW, all received training in traffic safety, conflict resolution, harassment, workplace violence, etc. "In this regard", he said. "we need to disseminate the acquired knowledge widely, especially the knowledge related to compilation, in order to expand the influence of the union even more."
