Phnom Penh: President of Collective Union of Movement of Workers, Pav Sina, said that resolving collective labor disputes outside the court system is one of the best mechanisms that is easy, effective and takes a short period of time.

His remarks came after being invited to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Arbitration Council, Pav Sina said: "It focuses on those who have more money, more power, on workers or people who do not have access, I think it is very difficult to get justice."

He said that the process in the judiciary is related to the high cost of the proceedings, even though we are the victims, which is very difficult and the mechanism for resolving informal labor disputes, he really supports seriously.

Regarding the provision of joint labor dispute resolution services in Cambodia by the Arbitration Council, Mr. Pav Sina saw that it was good and all parties supported this process because it is a tripartite body and the settlement of labor disputes is based on Therefore, all parties applaud and support the work of the Arbitration Council to continue its activities to serve the workers and employers in the dispute resolution mechanism.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training established the Arbitration Council in 2003 as a tripartite mechanism for resolving out-of-court labor disputes, and it has made a significant contribution to maintaining the harmonization of academic relations. Over the past 20 years, the Arbitration Council has handled 3,042 collective labor disputes with a success rate of approximately 75%, which is internationally recognized for its effectiveness in resolving collective labor disputes with high remediation rates.

The Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, HE Dr. Ith SamHeng, stated that currently the professional relations in Cambodia are recognized as more mature, which is the achievement of the effective implementation of labor laws and regulations. In particular, the Labor Law and the mechanism for resolving out-of-court labor disputes with the close cooperation of all stakeholders who are users of the Arbitration Council and, in particular, the professional role of the arbitrator. According to the Minister, in accordance with the Labor Law, the settlement of labor disputes through conciliation by the conciliation officer of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and the resolution by the Arbitration Council shall be free to meet the maximum requirements of Labor disputes, conciliation by labor inspectors and settlement by the Arbitration Council are quick.
