Phnom Penh:Observing that at the beginning of 2023, factories and enterprises in Cambodia continued to suspend, which led to a significant impact on the source of income of workers, Mr. Pav Sina, President of Collective Union of Movement of Workers asked the Cambodian government to consider providing social assistance funds, such as the Ministry of Labor, which should issue a proclamation requiring employers to provide workers with suspension.

In early 2023, many factories continued to suspend as well as reduce orders, thus causing workers to lose their income seriously, He said, "I urge the head of government.  "Please examine the possibility of providing assistance to workers, as well as the Ministry of Labor issued a proclamation around the limitation for employers to provide severance pay for 2023."

Although some factories had suspended their work and others had fully suspended, it had caused workers to lose a lot of income, and the fact that there was no limit on the payment of severance pay was raised by some employers.  The various reasons for the crisis that make the provision of wages, suspension fees, and it can not meet the costs of workers.

"We can not meet the cost of workers, even the cost of accommodation is not enough, so I take this opportunity to ask the head of government to consider the possibility of providing social assistance to workers who  "Suspend the work as the government and the Ministry of Labor have done in the past."
