Phnom Penh: As part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, civil society organisations and trade unions have joined forces to advance their shared commitment to ending gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace.

Creating safe workplaces for everyone requires the Cambodian government to ratify ILO Convention No. 190 (C190) – the Violence and Harassment Convention adopted by the International Labour Organization on 21 June 2019 during its Centenary Conference.

This landmark Convention recognises the fundamental right of every person to a world of work free from violence and harassment, including all forms of gender-based violence. It is the first international treaty to address these issues comprehensively.
C190 provides a broad definition of violence and harassment that covers physical, psychological, sexual, and economic abuse, thereby strengthening workplace safety and protection for all workers.
