Phnom Penh: Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, provided a guarantee to workers at Format (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. that they would receive their payments and other benefits on February 20.

According to the Ministry, the plan ensures workers will be paid on February 20, with details on payment locations and procedures to follow.

On February 12, 2025, Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, met with workers and employees of Format (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., following the fire that occurred the previous evening.

Format (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., located in Anlong Kong Thmey Village, Prey Sar, Dangkor District, employs 466 workers.

This morning, during his visit to the workers, Heng Sour expressed his deep regret regarding the fire incident. He thanked the authorities, the fire brigade, and the leaders who actively and carefully intervened to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.

Heng Sour affirmed the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training's attention to the welfare of workers and employees at Format (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., acknowledging the challenges they face. As the factory is expected to be rebuilt within four months, workers are encouraged to use the National Employment Agency (NEA)'s mobile job center, located near the factory, to find immediate employment opportunities. Workers may also consider returning to their positions once the factory is rebuilt

Heng Sour assured the workers that their National Social Security Fund (NSSF) cards remain valid, allowing them to continue receiving benefits such as healthcare, childbirth benefits, and pregnancy check-ups. The NSSF branch team in Dangkor District has also been deployed to the site to assist any NSSF members potentially affected by the fire.
