Phnom Penh: Mr. Ton Nonn, a representative of the workers' movement at San Sing (Cambodia) Clothing Co., LTD in Trapeang Krasaing village, Kak commune, Bor Seth district, Kampong Speu province, was summoned by the Bor Seth district inspector to appear before the criminal police. The reason given in the letter was that it "only made inquiries about personal needs," even though the individual in question did not commit any wrongdoing.

In connection with this case, the president of the Collective Union of Movement of Workers, Pav Sina, stated that the summons letter from the district inspector was a matter of intimidation against union representatives after they jointly formed a trade union movement in the factory.

He stated, "We have seen the use of force by local authorities to interrogate and pursue them until a summons is issued. This shows an intent to threaten the rights of workers to form a union in Cambodia."

The Collective Union of Movement of Workers calls on the Bor Seth district authorities, as well as Kampong Speu provincial authorities, to stop threatening workers who have exercised their legal right to form unions in factories. This right aims to promote the rights, freedoms, and benefits of workers and aligns with the labor law and union law of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
